CINCINNATI(AP) -- Procter & Gamble is recalling two flavors of its Pringles chips because they may be tainted with Salmonella.
The Cincinnati-based company is offering replacement coupons or refunds for the "Cheeseburger" and "Taco Night" versions of the snack. The company has had no reports of illness.
P&G is the latest company to recall products with flavor-enhancing hydrolyzed vegetable protein made by Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors.
Salmonella bacteria can cause serious infections in young children and others with weakened immune systems. Federal authorities say Salmonella was found on Basic Food's processing equipment.
