After a four-hour search, the body of an 18-year-old from the Marshfield area was recovered. The boy had been jumping off the Balsam Road Bridge earlier in the evening with friends.
Divers made many trips underwater but visibility was terrible and after more than an hour, the team knew it would be a recovery instead of a rescue effort. The channel beneath the bridge was 24 to 30 feet deep.
The drowning victim's name is being withheld. His sister and girlfriend were at the scene when the boy was found.
