The St. Vincent de Paul Free Health Clinic in Merrill is offering their services to those in Lincoln County. Every Thursday, the clinic will be open, providing free basic healthcare and health education to those who qualify.

The owners of St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store donated vacant space in their store for the clinic. On staff include seven physicians, two physician assistants, and more than 20 nurses and volunteers.

"We need to create better programs in order to take care of people who don't have health care," says James O'Dea, M.D.

There are dozens of community businesses that are helping the free clinic get off the ground, including the Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill. They'll provide basic lab and x-ray services for the clinic's patients.

The clinic is open each Thursday. Registration starts at 5 p.m. and patients can see a doctor from 6 until 8 p.m. For more information, contact the clinic at 715-539-1131.
