The Wisconsin Rapids woman was convicted of child abuse charges Tuesday in Wood County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 15, officers responded to a report of a woman shouting at children. An officer gave Hurr a warning, then asked a neighbor to contact authorities if Hurr drove. In less than a half hour, officers were notified Hurr was driving her car. They stopped her and arrested her for drunken driving. She had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.123 percent. During the investigation, police learned Hurr kicked and struck a 6-year-old child.
