Like it or hate it, Fahrenheit 9/11 is opening across the country Friday. But if you want to see it, it'll take some driving. Posted: 1:34 PM Jun 26, 2004Reporter: Justin Ware |

There are the Democrats who say it's an honest look at the Bush Administration. There are the Republicans, who call the movie nothing short of propaganda and lies. And then there are those like Carrie Mueller, who just want to know what all the fuss is about.
"I think it might be interesting to see, you know what's out there and presented and not necessarily agree with everything, but see why it's controversial and what they have to say," says Mueller.
For what ever reason plenty of people are turning out to see Fahrenheit 9/11.
In New York, the movie broke an attendance record in the two theaters that it was shown.
But despite its popularity, Fahrenheit 9/11 will not be seen in most theaters in central Wisconsin, even in larger Metropolitan areas like Wausau. Michael Moore's film will not be seen on any marquis this summer.
And part of the reason behind Fahrenheit’s absence, may be the controversy behind the film.
Newschannel 7 tried contacting several different theater managers in the area and none of them would speak on camera about the movie.
In what he calls a satirical documentary, Moore portrays President Bush as lazy and out of touch. Republicans are firing back saying the film is based on lies and only represents Moore's point of view.
The filmmaker admits part of the movie is his own opinion, but says he backs it up with solid facts.
"Any conservative or Republican who would dare to say that this film is not factual would themselves not be factual, they would not be telling the truth," says Moore.
And now you can make that judgment for yourself in a theater, which may not be very near to you.
