Some future ice fisherman may have been born on Lake Wausau Sunday.
The Wausau Noon Optimist Club hosted their 34th Youth Fisheree at Rookery Park in Rib Mountain.
The group raises money throughout the year to sponsor the ice fishing clinic.
The organization's goal is to share their love of the outdoors with youth in the community.
"We just come together here, feed the kids teach them how to ice fish if they don't know how, some one will drill the hole for them and it's a nice project," says DuWayne Witter a long time member of the group.
The event featured hot dogs, hot chocolate and an ice fishing contest for youth 17 and under.
The top winner will have their catch mounted by a local taxidermist.
