It appears a swingers group in Stevens Point isn't causing any problems. Police haven't been called to the Royale Inn as of Friday night.

That's where the group called Club NCN originally planned a "Sexual Freedom Hotel Takeover" this weekend.

More than 300 people were expected to attend, but Friday night the hotel was practically empty.

The organizer says they scaled back plans after the party drew the attention of police and media. The city's mayor and police chief said the party violated city ordinances.

Police say as long as the group stays discreet and keeps their sexual activities contained to their hotel room, there shouldn't be any problems.

"The only way we'd get involved is if they are causing a disturbance, causing damage or if we get any emergency calls there," says Sgt. Tony Babl of the Stevens Point Police Department.

Police say they are not actively monitoring the hotel, but are prepared to respond to any complaints.
