Eight hundred eighty two teams participated in the Gus Macker three on three basketball tournament over the weekend. That number is down from last year, but organizers say the number of spectators grew.
Event organizer Josh Kubly says more than 20,000 people came out to watch the games.
"We had a few minor altercations with players not seeing eye to eye on a few calls but otherwise everything went very well. I really couldn't have asked for anything more."
Kubly estimates they raised $40,000, and that doesn't include money from concessions which hasn't been added up yet. All the money goes to the Wausau West and Wausau Newman High School athletic departments.
