A new study shows that people who drink more than two sodas a week double their risk of getting pancreatic cancer.
The study is published in an American Association for Cancer Research Journal.
The head researcher says the sugar in soft drinks increases insulin in the body, which he believes contributes to cancer cell growth in the pancreas.
The beverage industry calls the study flawed.
Some local people agree soda isn't the healthiest option, but still can't cut the habit.
"I could go through a case of Mountain Dew in the summer time, so I kinda cut way back," says Cathy Berlik.
"It concerns me. I'm trying to stop but I'm addicted, yes," says Josh Davis.
During the study, researchers didn't ask specifically about drinking diet soda, but most of the soda in the study wasn't.
