The state of Wisconsin gets an "F" when it comes to reproductive health care. That's the grade given by The Institute for Women's Policy Research, and that has health care providers and some politicians concerned.

A meeting was held Tuesday in Wausau to discuss family planning services. Family Planning Services includes everything from regular check-ups to birth control and testing for sexually transmitted diseases.

"Programs like these are one of the strongest things we can do as a state to make sure a statement about how we value women," says Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton.

Lawton stresses the importance of family planning programs and making sure women have access to all reproductive services. Right now Medicaid helps low income women in Wisconsin afford reproductive care, but many believe education, access, and funding still need improved.
