Heavy rains wreaked havoc all across our area. Farmer's fields look more like swamps and some roads flooded.

A culvert on Highway P between County F and Highway 13 is ripped apart. Heavy rains expanded the creek five times its normal size. The highway department now has blocked off the road to single lane of traffic. But crews say this isn't the first time they've done this here during the summer. It was washed out June 22 and just rebuilt last week.

The highway department will start work on the culvert Thursday. But they're asking people to take an alternate route to Highway P on their way to work in the morning.
