Now that we're officially into the new year many of us are trying to get back to a fresh start.
Financial advisers at Peoples State Bank say 2010 is not expected to be a doom and gloom year. But a lot concerning our economy is still uncertain.
"March 9th of 2009 was the bottom of the market. All markets have come back relatively 50 to 60% since then and so were doing good the thought is most experts say this is going to be a good year however we don't know for certain there's a lot of economic indicators that are looking pretty good right now," said Connie Higgins, Financial Consultant.
She says this year, we should all remember to save she predicts credit card debt will be the big issue for Americans next year.
"Put money into your 401K your retirement plans don't use your credit card make a new years resolution not to use your credit card whether it be for a month or 12 months if you don't have the money don't buy it its as simple as that," said Higgins.
One last token of advice I received is don't worry. The financial consultant says once again to remember to save for this year.
She predicts the economy should steadily get better after signs of consumer spending have risen, unemployment has gone down and housing sales have gone up.
She if you're thinking about selling your home, in Wausau, it will take about 11 months to sell, on average, which has gone up significantly compared to last year.
