A local man is making the trek from Marshfield to Wausau, but he's doing it on foot to raise awareness for a deadly disease.
Rich Nesbitt headed out at 4 a.m. Saturday morning from the Marshfield Clinic. He's walking to raise awareness about sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that he is currently being treated for, but the cancer wasn't slowing him down during the walk Saturday.
"The feet are sore, the muscles are tight, especially when I stop, the I feel tightness in there, start walking and loosen 'em up and I'm fine and dandy," said Nesbitt.
The walk totals 45 miles.
