Construction is clogging up downtown Wausau, but the mayor says that's a good sign.
That was the scene near the mall and arts block in Wausau Saturday. Much of the construction is to make way for the new gateway office complex.
Mayor Jim Tipple says the situation is going to get worse, before it gets better, but so far everyone is handling it well.
"I think people are very patient. There's a lot o things going on, the city is making changes with roads, the state is doing a lot of road changes. We're gonna be faced with that for the next six or eight years," said Tipple.
Tipple says he thinks the construction is exciting because it means the area is growing.
