PORTAGE, Wis. (AP) -- Charges are expected against a Wisconsin man accused of helping his girlfriend bind her young daughter to control her tantrums.
Police arrested the 37-year-old Columbus man Wednesday. They're seeking multiple charges that include physical abuse of a child.
The girl's mother is already charged with multiple counts related to child abuse.
The Reporter in Fond du Lac says the mother is accused of tying up the 5-year-old with rope and binding her mouth with duct tape when the girl acted up. The mother would then allegedly lock her in her bedroom.
The child tells police the woman's boyfriend helped tie her up.
The girl now lives with her father in Tucson, Ariz. Her 12-year-old stepsister and 3-year-old sister are in foster care.
