MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- The holidays could be especially happy for some lucky Powerball players.
The jackpot for Wednesday evening's Powerball drawing is a cool $106 million. That works out to an estimated $53 million if taken as a lump sum.
The drawing will be held Wednesday evening.
Powerball is played in Wisconsin and 29 states, as well as in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Wisconsin's most recent winner was Doug Miron of Marinette. He won $31.4 million in October and took the lump sum, which was about $17 million before taxes.
Wisconsin has had 15 Powerball jackpot winners since the game began in 1992. The largest was a $208.6 million jackpot split among 100 co-workers at Sargento Foods in 2006.
