MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Anyone under age 21 would have to be completely sober whenever on school grounds under a bill introduced in the Wisconsin Legislature.
The goal is to crack down on underage drinkers who consume alcohol somewhere else and then come to school either for class or an event like a game or dance.
Current law bans anyone from possessing or consuming alcohol on school grounds. However, current law does allow someone under age 21 to drink alcohol if accompanied by a parent, guardian or spouse who's reached the legal drinking age.
The bill by Republican Sen. Neal Kedzie of Elkhorn would bar anyone under 21 from being on school grounds even if they've had the drink legally.
The proposal was sent to the Senate Education Committee.

The bill should state any one would have be completely sober on school grounds, not just 21 and under.
