Nearly seven months after General Motors and Chrysler handed out about 2,000 pink slips to dealership franchises, owners may finally find out why their doors were closed.
A spending bill which passed the Senate includes a dealer's rights amendment.
It would require the car companies to explain why they closed each dealership.
A former Antigo dealer wants the bill to pass.
"Its an impartial third party arbitrator so the idea behind that would be they look at both sides equally to see if the dealers were treated fairly in this process," says John Quinlan.
President Barack Obama could sign the bill into law as early as Friday.
GM and Chrysler would then have 30 days to address each dealership.
