Some businesses in Wausau were evacuated Monday after construction crews hit a gas mane. It happened shortly before 11 a.m.

According to the Wausau Fire Department, construction crews ruptured a natural gas line while digging near the new apartment complex at the corner of Grand Avenue and Kent Street.

Officials evacuated nearby buildings for about an hour until the problem was under control. It's the second gas line mishap in Wausau in two weeks.

So once again, this is a good time to remind you about Diggers Hotline. If you're going to do any work around your house that requires you to dig, call three days in advance to make sure you won't hit any underground pipes or wires.

The number is 1-800-242-8511.
