A fire early Monday morning destroyed a garage outside of Wausau. Crews got the call Monday morning.
A garage off Highway WW in the town of Texas was engulfed in flames when they got there.
Town of Texas Fire Chief Tim Raef says they were able to put out the blaze, but not before it gutted the building.
"Everything was damp. Probably held it down a little bit. We had a little bit of scorching on the northeast corner of the house, otherwise everything in the house was fine."
The fire also came dangerously close to a propane tank just behind the garage, but crews managed to cut the gas off in time. No one was hurt.
