Closing arguments are expected on Friday in the trial of a Madison man charged with 23 counts of child abuse and two sexual assault charges.

The man's daughter, now 15 years old, testified her father forced to eat cockroaches and other insects.

Once, she says he tried to force her to eat a dead mouse.

Through an interpreter, the father admitted to hitting his daughter.

The man's name is not being released to protect his daughter's identity.

A child abuse expert testified about photos entered as evidence, saying the blood in her hair and lacerations on her face are not common to normal childhood play.

The girl's mother pleaded no contest last month to six counts of child abuse.
