Bear Vs. Car

Mild winters and an abundance of food is causing bears to wander around the area. But the DNR says it's a problem because bears are wandering right into the road.

Drivers in Lincoln County have hit 11 bears so far this summer. That's almost triple the annual average.

Wardens say bears are most likely to travel at night so it's important to drive the speed limit and use your high beams. If you hit a bear, call police right away, do not try to touch it.
