Tuesday was National Teacher’s Day. At Midway Elementary in Gleason, students and staff made gifts for their teachers and made them lunch.
Teachers like Laureil Arneson say it feels great to be appreciated.
"As a parent, I know I'm guilty of not always showing my appreciation for my kids' teachers and this just reminds you to take the time and say thank you."
Schools have celebrated this day for more than 50 years. It began when Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded Congress to set aside the first Tuesday in May for National Teacher's Day.
