The Department of Transportation is trying a new technique to get the roads in shape for the wicked Wisconsin winters. Crews are blocking off the passing lanes on the Interstate 39 Bridge just south of Highway 29 East in Marathon County.
They're putting a new gravel grip surface down so drivers have a better traction when it freezes.
Drivers are urged to use caution and drive slowly through the area while crews are working.
If the weather holds up, the project should be finished by Tuesday night.
