Is there a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon or a summer evening than by going for a long walk or bike ride?

If you answered no, then you'll want to head to Stevens Point, where you can experience the best of both the outdoor and urban sights.

Trees and water abound as you make your way through the twists and turns past the Schmeeckle Reserve and into downtown.

There, you can take a break and say hello to the ducks.

"You see a lot of different wildlife," says Portage County Parks Director Gary Speckmann. "Anything from your average deer and turkeys to otter, porcupines, those types of things that I've seen on the trail. Last year, we had an osprey that nested right underneath the trail, too, so that was unique, too."
