The town of Rome is looking for some new firefighters.
Thursday night 24 of the 26 volunteer firefighters resigned. The group is protesting the Police and Fire Commission's decision to hire a new fire chief.
The position is about to become full time, and the commission hired an Illinois chief instead of keeping the current chief.
Over 400 town residents supported keeping the current chief, but the commission accepted the resignations.
