If you're a dog lover, you'll love this one. The 6th annual Paws on the Path is back in Marathon County for a day of dog-barking fun. The event was hosted by our very own Diana Normand.
A small crowd, along with their pups, walked through beautiful Sunny Vale Park. Then later filled the Human Society Parking lot to raise money to help take care of animals in need.
Participants could choose either a half mile or a two mile walk. Event coordinator Christa Blaubach says it's a great way to get out and have some fun with your dogs for a great cause.
"Everybody who participated in today's event, they want to support the Human Society, and this is a good way to do it," said Blaubach.
Everyone who participated was given a pledge sheet before the event to collect donations from family members and friends. Blaubach said on average this event usually raises $10,000 for the Humane Society. Early totals suggest this year they made $9,100.
