The university's 3,000 teacher assistants have been working without a contract for ten months now, and they say they're sick of it. The TA's main sticking point lies within the health care benefits. They are requesting a zero-premium benefit.
Picket signs were seen throughout the UW Madison campus Tuesday, and some TA' s are threatening to withhold students' grades if contract negotiations are not resolved.
The administration and the TA union are expected to head back to the bargaining table by next week.
