Candidates in two major local races were vying for votes in front of the Wausau Hmong Association Saturday.
Coleen Kennedy and Greg Huber are both running for Marathon County circuit court judge.
The forum was as much a chance for the candidates to explain to the largely non-English speaking audience what a circuit court judge does as it was an opportunity for them to campaign.
The candidates both focused on their experience to garner votes.
For Colleen Kennedy, that meant touting her work as a court of appeals attorney.
"I have satisfied 800 hours of judicial education and training to do my job," said Kennedy.
Greg Huber focused on his work at the capitol as a state representative and in the marathon county district attorney's office.
"Any type of case that basically happened, crime in Marathon County, I had an opportunity to work on that case," said Huber.
Each candidate spoke with the aid of an interpreter for about 15 minutes.
