The Marathon County Sheriff's Department has issued an urgent public safety warning regarding the manhunt for 29-year-old Dale Robinson. He is the man investigators believe kidnapped and killed Deanna Scantlin, a Wausau mother.
The Sheriff in Washburn County says Robinson has now been spotted several times in his county over the past few days. On Monday afternoon, the Sheriff says Robinson rear-ended a woman driving on a country road. He punched out her window and tried to pull her out. Fortunately, a truck passing by stopped and scared him off.
Washburn County Sheriff Terry Dryden also says that Robinson is after money. He is suspected of breaking into several homes in Washburn County and selling items that he steals.
With this latest attack, law enforcement all across the western half of the state has put the community on alert.
"We want everyone to be on higher alert than usual because we consider Robinson very dangerous," said Capt. Diane Krebsbach from the Marathon County Sheriff's Department.
Meantime, Deanna Scantlin has not been seen. Time and evidence has investigators now classifying her missing person case to a homicide.
Robinson is considered to be very dangerous. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact your local police immediately.
