Congressman Dave Obey has secured a $200,000 in federal funds for area police departments. The money is geared to help fight meth problems in Wisconsin.
The money will be distributed through nine counties including Marathon, Lincoln, Clark, and Portage. It will go to the counties' multi-jurisdictional meth task force.
"It's really hazardous material, so any help at all is welcome help," says Wausau Police Chief Bill Brandimore.
Brandimore says the additional money will help continue their training, add specialized clean-up equipment and extend prevention programs.
