A local dietician says drinking milk does a body good in more ways than you may think.
For some time, dairy products such as milk have been known to be an excellent source of calcium and protein.
Dr. Ellen Schumann says eating more dairy products is also a good way to watch your weight.
"If you aren't drinking milk, you're still going to drink you're going to replace that milk with is probably gonna be juice or in many cases pop, both are pretty much just empty calories," said Schumann.
Schumann says the protein and fat in milk can also make you feel more full when you have it with a meal, causing you to eat smaller portions.
