There are a lot of great things going on right now in Wood County, at least that's what a recent survey found.
The survey, called the Local Indicator for Excellence, or LIFE, focuses on quality of life indicators such as healthcare, education and public safety.
It was put together by groups who want to show that there are a lot of good reasons to make your home in Wood County.
"A lot of times you don't see what's right outside your door, or if you've been in an area, quite often you start to overlook some of those very positive things that you have in your community," said Connie Loden, Heart of Wisconsin Executive Director.
Wisconsin Rapids' mayor says the survey will help businesses in the area that are trying to recruit employees.
"At least when you send a letter out to a potential employer, you got a little pamphlet to go with it that touts Wood County," said Wisconsin Rapids Mayor Jerry Bach.
The results were compiled in a pamphlet and are available on line. You can find them by going to the website: www.heartofwi.com
