AS OF TONIGHT, THE 1,100 EMPLOYEES AT SNE ENTERPRISES IN MOSINEE WILL NOT BE GOING ON STRIKE NEXT WEEK.
BUT THEY HAVEN'T COME TO TERMS WITH THE CONTRACT THE COMPANY HAS OFFERED THEM, EITHER.
UNION SPOKESPERSON LARRY SEAY SAYS WORKERS VOTED TO REJECT THE CONTRACT TODAY.
THE CONTRACT INCLUDED A WAGE AND BENEFIT OFFER .. BUT HE WOULD NOT GO INTO DETAILS ON WHAT THAT OFFERWAS.
SEAY DID SAY THE UNION IS HOPING TO GO BACK TO THE TABLE WITH THE COMPANY AND RESUME NEGOTIATIONS.
"Where we're at right now is where we don't think we can inteligently make a decision without going back to meet with the company one more time," said Seay.
SNE SPOKESPERSON MARK LANG RELEASED THIS STATEMENT TODAY.
"CLEARLY .. WE'RE VERY DISAPPOINTED THAT THE UNION DID NOT ACCEPT THIS OFFER."
WE BELIEVE THIS PROPOSAL IS EXTREMELY FAIR.
LANG SAYS THE NEXT STEP WILL INVOLVE FEDERAL MEDIATORS.
