The new plan is said to help people on Medicare pay for drug costs, with a deductible. The change will also provide them with a discount drug card this June. rep. Dave Obey says the new plan will only help drug companies.
"This is a $130 billion gift to the drug industry in terms of additional profits that they will make from this bill," Obey said.
Rep. Mark Green says the plan is simply a voluntary option that provides seniors under Medicare, for the first time, with prescription drug benefits.
