Authorities say a medical condition contributed to a 57-year-old Wausau woman crashing into a power pole on the city's northeast side Sunday.
A Wausau Police Department lieutenant says the driver blacked out before hitting the power pole.
The accident happened on 6th Street near Orchard Street around 2:00 p.m.
The driver was trapped in her car for more than half an hour while authorities waited for the utility company to cut power to the pole.
After she was rescued, the woman was taken to the hospital and treated for a broken collar bone and other minor injuries before being released.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
