The Marshfield Clinic's John Beauchamp says older women are at a high risk for heart disease, because during menopause. They lose a hormone that protects them.
"Heart disease is the number one killer of women," said John Beauchamp, Marshfield Clinic Heart Fair, "each year it kills more women than all forms of cancer combined."
Beauchamp says in order to prevent heart disease, women should maintain their ideal weight, check their cholesterol and see a doctor if they have any symptoms of heart disease, like chest pains or lightheadedness.
