An afternoon fire destroyed a home in Marshfield Saturday.
The Marshfield Fire Department responded to the blaze after a neighbor called in the fire at around 1:45PM. Marshfield fire crews say they arrived to see heavy fire extending from the second floor.
The fire department says the home sustained an upwards of 90% damage, and is uninhabitable in its current condition.
Initial reports indicated that the residents were not accounted for, but they were later located and no one was home at the time of the fire.
Fire fighters from Marshfield and Hewitt battled the blaze for three hours before the fire was declared under control.
Crews remained on scene for several more hours controlling hot spots.
Investigators say preliminary reports indicate the fire originated on the second floor in a front room used for storage.
They say the fire appears to have been ignited by a failure in the electrical wiring.
The residents are being assisted by the North Woods Red Cross.
