Dale & Leilani Neumann’s Sentencing Tuesday
The Weston parents convicted of reckless homicide for praying for their dying daughter to heal instead of rushing her to a doctor will be sentenced in Marathon County Court Tuesday.

It’s been nearly a year and half since 11-year-old Madeline Kara Neumann died and Tuesday her parents will finally learn what, if any punishment they will receive for praying for their dying daughter instead of getting her medical treatment.
Dale and Leilani Neumann are convicted of second-degree reckless homicide in the death of their daughter Madeline, who died from undiagnosed diabetes.
During the trial, testimony revealed the Neumanns continued to pray for Madeline as her heath steadily declined to the point she could no longer walk, talk eat or drink. The Weston couple believed God had healing powers.
Tuesday afternoon a Marathon County judge could sentence each parent to up to 25 years in prison.
Dale & Leilani are expected to appeal their convictions.
This case is believed to be the first of its kind in Wisconsin involving faith healing in which someone died and another person was charged with homicide.

I hope that the judge sentences them to prison time to send a clear and strong message that ignorance will not be an excuse for allowing your child to die, when medical attention was minutes away. These parents need understand that what they did was wrong, although I am not sure if they ever will. The appeals will go on for a long time.
