The jail overcrowding seems to be happening again in Marathon county.
Right now, there's enough room for the 265 inmates housed there, but the jail is close to capacity, and by this spring, they will have to ship inmates elsewhere.
A committee devised to solve the overcrowding is working to find new solutions to the old problem.
"We really want to avoid building a new jail if we can, if there is any other alternative," said Bob Dickman, Marathon County Jail Administrator.
Dickman said the alternative programs they're looking at include different forms of therapy for inmates, such as, alcohol treatment and electronic monitoring of criminals in their homes.
