The Wisconsin Rapids church group would have traveled to the town of Boneau for the fourth year, providing medical assistance, food, clothing, and school supplies.
The trip was cancelled in late January after Haitians began rebelling against President Aristide. A town nearby the group's destination has experienced the violence.
"The custom house and the police station and the jail were burned down and the prisoners in Port Au Peit were released," says Gilbert Endrizzi, Haiti volunteer.
The group was able to send down a supply of eyeglasses and some food supplies. They say their next trip to Haiti will not take place until next year.
