New Voters Project

Students at UWSP have joined a national campaign called "new voters project." It's a non-partisan organization that focuses on getting more 18 to 24-year-olds into the voting booth.

Erin Fay is one of the students involved in the project.

"The end result of the New Voters Project is that there never has to be another New Voters Project. That after this, everyone will be so wowed after the November elections that youth vote will just continue."

According to the new voters project website, only 36 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds voted in the last presidential election, so the campaign will focus on getting all young adults to vote, not just college students.

This summer, volunteers will be going door-to-door to find young people who don't attend the university.
