It was a close call for a couple of families at the Wausau Hospital who were hoping to avoid bringing their babies into the world on leap Day.
At 5:00 Saturday afternoon, Tina Andrasek went into labor, but she says her baby was bound and determined to come out before midnight to avoid having a birthday only once every four years.
"I wanted her to have her own birthday and look at the calendar and see February 28th and know that was her birthday," said Andrasek.
Kevin and Michelle Korman's baby was eight days overdue on Saturday, so by Sunday night they say they were happy to have little Danielle, regardless of the date.
"When it came time I didn't even think about leap year at all, it was just the sooner the better," said Michelle Korman.
As of Sunday afternoon, there were no leap day babies at the Wausau Hospital.
