The heavy snow we've seen this year has been great news for everyone from outdoors sports fans to farmers, but there's a downside to the wonderful winter weather we've had and it has arrived in the form of potholes.
"I've been in this position for about 20 years now, so I've seen it worse and I've seen better," said Ric Mohelnitzky, Wausau Public Works.
Mohelnitzky says this year's return to a more normal winter has meant a more normal amount of potholes that will cost the city of Wausau more than $100,000 to fill in.
Potholes batter a car's wheels, tires and suspension and can cause enough damage to make your vehicle unsafe.
"To the customer, what would bring it to their attention would be a steering wheel shake, imbalance problem at high speeds, low speeds, stuff like that," said David Knetter, Brickner Motors Mechanic.
Knetter says potholes can cause anywhere for $25-500 worth of damage to a car.
Bills for repairs that the mechanic expects to see pick up as the potholes start claiming their victims.
