Drug or alcohol addiction can be incredibly difficult to overcome, but now there's a new resource in Wisconsin Rapids for people trying to stay sober.
Organizers are unveiling the Rapids Oxford House, a home for men recovering from addiction.
The house can hold up to 6 tenants, who will pay rent, and take care of the house as if it was their own, but in a temptation-free, healing environment.
"Often times these individuals find their way back to a previous environment that has the challenges around addiction, drugs are still available, alcohol is present, there might be other issues that make it tough for them to maintain their sobriety," says Chief Kurt Heuer of the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department.
If the Rapids Oxford House sounds like something you might be interested in, Chief Heuer says you can contact him at the Wisconsin Rapids Police Department; their phone number is (715) 423-4444.
