Part of a freight train carrying a hazardous material derailed in Washington County Monday.

Sheriff's Sergeant Jill Raffay says 16 of the cars derailed near Slinger Monday afternoon. But, no injuries were reported.

Some of the debris was on fire.

Raffay says some derailed cars were carrying a hazardous material, but those cars were not on fire. Authorities do not know what that material was.

Raffay says some side roads were closed because of the accident, but no major highways.

The Canadian National Freight Train had 70 cars.
