UPDATE: Power Restored to 4,000, Outages Still Remain in Eagle River

UPDATE: 6/21 at 3:01 p.m.

WPS crews have made significant progress in restoring power to customers following a batch of severe storms that moved through the area Friday morning.

As of 3 p.m., the most outages were still being reported in the Eagle River area. There, 1,991 customer are still without service.

More than 6,000 people are without power Friday morning as strong storms move through the area.

The most significant outages are in the Rhinelander area. According to Wisconsin Public Service's website, 2,525 customer are without power.

More than 1,700 in Eagle River are without service.

Smaller outages in the Wausau metro area are leaving nearly 900 customers in the dark, and in Woodruff 300 people are without service.

WPS is aware of the outage will have crews working to restore power.
