State Patrol has released more details about a crash that involved six vehicles and shutdown the northbound lanes of Highway 51 north of Brokaw for nearly two hours Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4 p.m. July 3 on Highway 51 near Maine Drive.
Sgt. Fochs from the Wisconsin State Patrol says they responded to assist a person with a flat tire on camper. He says motorists began to move into the left lane, however, one driver slowed from 70 mph to around 15 mph. He says the hill in the road and sheer volume of traffic cause a chain reaction crash.
Sgt. Fochs says while it's important to obey the state's “Move Over” law, it's also important to continue traveling at normal road speed.
Four people were transported to area hospitals for their injuries.
No citations were issued.
