The Clark County Sheriff is asking people to be more aware of what's going on when they're behind the wheel.
Last year there were four highway deaths, but this year there were already nine, and six of those nine people killed were not wearing seatbelts.
The sheriff says seatbelts, along with high speeds, played major roles in the accidents. He also says statistics show there will be a record number of deaths on Wisconsin roads this year.
