The parking lot was packed with car-loads of avid skiers who took advantage of the first significant snow since Christmas.
But even though the ski area has only been open for about seven days this season, workers at nine-mile say it's still been a better year than the last two, and they're confident they'll have enough snow for the badger state games next month.
"That's February 4-6 and the last two years, we had to cancel due to lack of snow," said Jim Adams, Nine Mile Ski Area.
Adams says the games bring in more than 1,000 skiers to the Wausau area.
